The new album, however, is titled ‘As in heaven, so in war’, and should be released in late February and early March. Urbino (Pu) – It will be held Sunday, June 30th in the beautiful surroundings of the 10th Marathon Straducale Urbino, which last year recorded 1,700 students. Although the event is still far away, the Ciclo Ducale is working to organize this event in every detail.

HISTORICAL NOTES

Schieti, an ancient castle closed in a old high wall, was known as crossroads between Pesaro, Urbino and Montefeltro. Obligatory way for lime and bricks furnacers on the left side of the river, for sulfur workers on the right and for many charcoal-burners who ran down to sell their goods on the shore.

The town, surrounded by a bight of Foglia, was an indispensable stop for a bit of rest in the taverns, before restart walking, wading across the “Passo dei Carbonai”. They used stilts to pass through it as the rest of the farmers, leaving the typical tool under the loggia of  Cà Matteo small farm.

During the hot season, guys and young boys used the stilts as instrument of race up to the Castle centre, creating a town festival known as “Palio dei sampp” (Palio dei Trampoli). The winner was rewarded with a wheel of cheese and a bottle of wine. After the race, as the popular instrument started playing, people improvised typical dancing (furlana, saltarello, palombina…).

We want to present again this race, this party, to breath still today a little bit of homely air, not polluted by artificial noises, to re-experience and to strengthen the roots of family, village and sociality. A travel back in time to discover together smells, sensations and emotions  almost forgotten.
